At the heart of the Stellar Ring lies a CNC-machined brass body, colored through precision electroplating and finished with laser-engraved markings to ensure accurate number alignment and arrow precision.

The ring features 20 fixed magnetic slots that create the signature D20 ratchet feel. But it also hides a secret: 4 customizable magnetic ports beneath the outer ring.

🔧 Customize Your Spin

Fine-tune the magnetic feel in three simple steps.

Step 1 – Unlock the ring:

To access the inner magnet slots, you can rotate the locking ring counterclockwise using a flat tool.

Use a bridge key or other tool to unscrew the ring counterclockwise

Step 2 – Adjust the magnets:

Inside the number ring, you’ll find four optional magnet sockets.

Add 0–4 magnets to change the rotation feel—the more magnets, the stronger the ratcheting feedback.

⚠️ Make sure the poles of the added magnets are facing opposite to the fixed ones to avoid repulsion.

Step 3 – Lock it back in:

Reinstall the locking ring and turn the bridge key clockwise to secure it.

⚠️ Notes & Precautions:

• The central bearing is not sealed. Keep it away from water to prevent rust and preserve smooth rotation.
• Small magnets inside the ring may pose a choking hazard. Keep away from children.
• The ring's outer track contains 20 strong pre-installed magnets. These are not meant to be removed, as reinstallation can be difficult and may affect polarity.
• Ensure that all outward-facing poles are aligned.

The idea for the Stellar Ring sparked during a TTRPG session.
My favorite crystal D20 rolled off the tray and hit the floor — and that’s when it hit me:

What if there was a die that never rolled away, could spin effortlessly, and still landed on a clear, satisfying result?

Inspired by magnetic fidget tools, we began designing a ring you could spin, click, and count on.But it wasn’t easy. We’d never seen a fidget tool pack this many magnets into such a tight space.We wanted everything to be modular — even the bearing should be replaceable — so we opted for CNC-milled slots to allow for a secure, tool-free assembly.

As we refined the internal mechanism, we explored a range of exterior designs — gear teeth, tire treads...

Each one had its own unique appeal — and who knows, maybe you’ll see them in the future :)
